It's Author's Coffee Time on my blog today. Grab a fresh-roasted regular and meet Lisa Vandiver...

About Lisa

I am Lisa Vandiver, Author, mother, and wife to a wonderful husband Matthew and beautiful daughter Keira.

I have attended college in Dallas, Texas, and traveled to the countries of Russia, Denmark, and Sweden.

I have two novels, Josie's Thorn and Where She Belongs (My first novel) and Out Of My Head; a book of poems and short stories to my credit. I am now working on a science fiction novel series about vampires, another planet, and medieval settings(Some of my favorite stories). I am also working on Taking Over, a sequel to Where She Belongs.

Latte, cappuccino, regular? What’s your coffee time pleasure?
Regular, but I receive my coffee from a warehouse as fresh coffee beans and grind them myself, and I enjoy tasting a variety of coffees from all over the world.

Ooh, I can almost smell the roast now - yum! What flavour cookie would you like with that?
Chocolate Chip

Wise choice! What’s your greatest writing achievement to date?
Having two novels, and one book of poems and short stories to my credit to this date. I feel like I can now call myself an Author.

Fab stuff! Who is your hero and why?
In the world of writing and publishing, it is Brian Pratt and Amanda Hocking. They should be the poster children for success to all struggling ebook authors. I particularly am thankful for Brian Pratt's interview with Galleycat. I was told about that interview by a friend at a time when I felt like quitting and walking away. After reading that interview, it gave me hope for my own writing career (wow I said it, career as a writer) and it should give others hope and the courage to keep writing and keep dreaming, and keep working hard!

You're sooo right! We can do anything we want to in life if we believe in ourselves! Which word best defines your writing?
Passionate

That's a good trait. Passion definitely shows through in story-telling! What’s the most recent thing that made you laugh?
My little girl dancing around emulating Barbie. She is the most adorable little girl and so full of life.

Aw, cute! Which book is on your coffee table right now?
The Unsuspecting Mage: The Morcyth Saga Book One by Brian Pratt

What was the name of your first pet?
I've had so many loving friends but most memorable was my yellow Lab, Dolly.

We had a retriever - they're both loveable and nutty breeds! Who is your favourite character and why?
Esther of the Old Testiment. She was very brave and full of courage when she was taken away from her home and prepared for the king, and then she bravely came to the king her husband with out being summoned and could have been killed for that bold move, but because of her bravery, she saved her people.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?
My First book signing... The only people who showed up for it was of course my supportive family, and I appreciate that. I found out that day who my true friends were. I thought my little home town folks loved me, but I was wrong! I am not too fond of book signings now.

I can totally relate to that! Sending you hugs!
