There's a whole heap of different elements that go in to writing a novel. Ask different authors what they prefer, and you'll get a variety of answers. Some love plotting or working out themes and story arcs. Some prefer writing dialogue, making up different characters, or the general nitty-gritty of writing.
Anyway, it got me thinking, and I started a thread over at the Kindle Boards forum to find out what fellow authors think. I got a really interesting response, and Deb, at Two ...
